Aruba
Aruba is an island in the Caribbean Sea which is a part of the Netherlands Antilles. It lies about 33 kilometers (21mi) long-island of the Lesser Antilles. It is located 27 kilometers (17 mi) in the northern part of the coast of Venezuela. On the eastern part of Aruba are Bonaire and Curacao. These two island territories formed the southwest part of the Netherlands Antilles. These two Netherlands Antilles islands and Aruba are sometimes called the ABC islands.
Aruba is normally flat and river less. It is famous for its white sand beaches. The western and southern coasts of the island are somewhat sheltered from violent ocean currents where most of the tourism development took place. The northern and the eastern coasts are very much weather-beaten that is why that part has been left and not developed.
Aruba is one of the three countries that form the Kingdom of the Netherlands jointly with the Netherlands and the Netherlands Antilles. Aruba has a land area of 193 square kilometers (75 sq mi). The population is generally of mixed Dutch and Indian heritage and estimated with 103,000 people. Aruba has a dry type of weather and a barren, cactus-grown landscape. Aruba’s economy depended on tourism. Its dry climate has helped tourism since tourists to the island can dependably look forward to a warm and sunny weather. The surrounding area of the island features some rolling hills known as Hooiberg and Mount Jamanota, the highest in the island. Oranjestad is the capital being the largest city.
If you are thinking about a Aruba vacation, you cannot go wrong.
